What about cases of rape or incest?

NO CHILD SHOULD BE SENTENCED TO DEATH BASED ON HOW THEY WERE CONCEIVED.

Some may argue that forcing a woman to carry a child conceived this way lacks compassion (mindless pro-abortion talking points). Let’s be clear – those who do not wish to put a child to death for the crimes of his or her father are not FORCING anything. They are pleading for an END to the violence.

Only God can give life, and if God chooses to bring life into this circumstance – it is His providence. We who are christian know that all things work together for good, God help us to act like we believe it.

Scripture is clear: Personhood is not based on circumstances. All preborn babies are image-bearers, equally known and loved by God.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you” (Jeremiah 1:5).

“For God shows no partiality” (Romans 2:11).

An abortion would be another violation of that girl or woman (whether she realizes it or not), and killing of her child – making two victims. That is not compassion. Forcing an early birth of a dismembered ultra premature baby is a gruesome form of abuse against women and children. It adds to the initial violation another victim, damage to the mother, frees the initial perpetrator of responsibility and brings more perpetrators into the crime. Where is the justice?

This mindset further marginalizes women who continue their pregnancies and stigmatizes the children conceived in rape or incest. In pregnancies resulting from rape or incest, the loving response is to bring the perpetrator to justice AND support the girl or woman and her child in their needs – including protecting them from further harm.

It should be pointed out that many pregnancies that are reported to involve rape or incest turn out to be false accusations. This is important to note, because, when drafting legislation that restricts something, you have to consider the loopholes people will try to use. Most sources state that 2%-8% of rape allegations in the U.S. are false. What happens when that becomes the easiest way to legally procure an abortion? More bad fruit from unjust legislation.
