The Dangerous Unprecedented Language of Amendment 3

3 critical things to remember about Amendment 3:

1) This is not written as a prohibition on abortion. It repeals bad language, yes, but then literally adds language giving permission to end the lives of certain people (HJR 73 2025, subdivision 2). That is not the purpose of our constitution.

2) The Missouri constitution has NEVER been written like this, even in its darkest times, even after Amendment 3 2024. This authorization to end life in certain cases language sets a dangerous discriminatory precedent against the most vulnerable humans.

3) No other state constitution is written like this. The framework combination of permission to kill and a list of people excluded from constitutional protections is unprecedented.
